Marie-Ange Jean-Charles Obituary

Marie-Ange Jean-Charles was born on November 17, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the late Guerrie Louissaint and Elaine Louissaint. From an early age, Marie-Ange was shaped by strong family values, deep faith, and a compassionate spirit that would define her life and legacy.

After the passing of her parents, Marie-Ange and her sisters relocated to the United States, eventually settling in New Jersey, where she built a life rooted in service, devotion, and love for family.

On September 12, 1981, Marie-Ange married Joseph A. Jean-Charles. Together, they shared a devoted marriage and raised three beloved children: Ludger, Dorothy, and Cynthia.

Marie-Ange pursued her calling in nursing, dedicating her professional life to caring for others—especially the elderly. She worked faithfully for over 17 years at Green Hill Nursing Home in West Orange, New Jersey, where she was known for her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to those entrusted to her care. Never content to stop learning, she returned to nursing school to earn additional certifications and later served periodically as a home health aide for disabled children, extending her care to the most vulnerable.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Marie-Ange trusted God fully and lived a life grounded in prayer. The Book of Psalms held a special place in her heart. During her personal devotional time, she would often sing and recite Scripture in her native Haitian Creole, allowing God’s Word to shape her spirit and sustain her strength.

Marie-Ange consistently emphasized the importance of family unity, love, and maintaining meaningful relationships with friends. She believed deeply in looking out for one another and living with integrity, kindness, and grace.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Joseph A. Jean-Charles; her loving children, Ludger, Dorothy, and Cynthia; her cherished grandchildren, Ayva and Ayvri; grand neices and nephews; her sisters and brother, Rosena, Jean, Yanick, Fabienne Monette-Marjorie; and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched in countless ways.

Marie-Ange Jean-Charles will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, tireless service, and unconditional love. Her legacy of compassion and devotion will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
